This Privacy Policy explains what information Commalog (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit commalog.com (the “Site”), how it is used, and the choices you have. If you have questions, contact us at hello@commalog.com.
Information we collect
- Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply to you.
- Usage and device information. Like most websites, our hosting provider and security services automatically log technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and the time of your visit. This is used to keep the Site secure and running.
- Cookies. Cookies are small files stored on your device. We and our partners use them as described below.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not ask you to create an account.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
We may show ads served by Google and its advertising partners. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info (US) or www.youronlinechoices.eu (EU/UK).
- Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland will be asked for consent before personalized ads and related cookies are used, through a consent message shown on the Site.
Analytics
We may use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the Site, for example which articles are read most. These tools use cookies and collect information such as pages viewed and approximate location. The information is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles may include embedded content such as Google Maps, Instagram posts and YouTube videos. Embedded content behaves the same way as if you visited the other website directly, and those websites may collect data about you, use cookies and track your interaction with the embedded content. Their own privacy policies apply.
Affiliate links
Some pages may contain links to booking sites that are affiliate links. If you click one, the booking site may set a cookie so it can tell that you came from Commalog. We do not receive your booking or payment details.
Service providers
The Site is hosted by Hostinger and uses Cloudflare for domain and security services. These providers process technical data on our behalf to deliver and protect the Site.
How long we keep information
Emails are kept only as long as needed to handle your message. Server and security logs are kept by our providers for a limited period according to their own policies.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, email us. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some features of the Site may not work without them.
Children’s privacy
The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows when it was last changed.
